The Guía visual de huellas y rastros de la fauna de España y resto de Europa is the latest work produced by the SERAFO team (Servicio de Rastreo Forestal), specialists in the study of animal tracks and signs.

This first volume, dedicated to mammals, launches a four-part collection that will gather the greatest possible diversity of wildlife signs from the Iberian and European regions.

To develop it, extensive field sampling was carried out in more than 20 countries, tracking from the Strait of Gibraltar and the Canary Islands to the Svalbard archipelago, reaching as far east as the Caucasus in Armenia, with the aim of covering all European ecosystems and representing the widest possible diversity of species.

This volume contains nearly 1,000 pages, over 3,000 photographs, and dozens of infographics, illustrating in detail all kinds of signs of presence from more than 80 species or species groups. These are extensively represented through tracks, trails, droppings, feeding remains, burrows, territorial markings, and more, offering an exceptional level of detail for field identification and wildlife study.

With this publication, naturalists, researchers, and nature enthusiasts are provided with an essential guide, destined to become the most comprehensive work on European wildlife tracks.
