HELP REDUCE BIRD COLLISIONS

Why birds hit windows?

The most common cause of bird window collisions is the ability to reflect that cristals have. On the outside, the glass reflects its surroundings: trees and vegetation, so the birds collide because they believe its safe.

Sometimes there are birds that hit the glass because they see their own image reflected that they confuse with an intruder of the same species in their territory. Normally in these cases it does not collide with so much violence and the bird does not hurt, but suffers great stress and reduce energy while attempting to cast its own reflection.

COLLIDESCAPE tape

Translucent or opaque microperforated tapes, manufactured in the United States following the instructions of the American Bird Conservancy.

They guarantee more than 70% reduction of collisions.

DR. KOLBE stickers and Birdpen

Both products are based on their ability to reflect ultra violet light, visible by birds, without affecting the transparency of the glass. Although there are many factors that can interfere, if the BIRDSTICKER and the BIRPEN marker are applied correctly, they can reduce bird deaths due to window collision by 70%.

Decals WINDOW ALERT

In this case its effect is also based on the ability to reflect ultraviolet light.

Window Alert decals, however, are not adhesive, are hooked to the glasses by the effect of static electricity and can easily be removed again.

They reproduce silhouettes of butterflies or leaves to break the mirror effect of the glass.

Bird silhouettes

Useful to reduce collisions in transparent barriers through which we do not normally look such as: sound barriers, greenhouses, bus stops and other types of vertical closures in infrastructure.

Several stickers must be place in order to achieve the desired effect.

Every year millions of birds die due to window collisions ...
