At his 87-year-old reviews one of his last major projects for the study and wildlife conservation. Once again he has been the first Western scientist to visit and do fieldwork with iconic species in areas previously few visited by foreigners, as well as with mountain gorillas, Serengeti lions, tigers in India, Pantanal jaguars, panda bear, snow panther, etc.
"I'm just a naturalist who likes to go out and watch big beautiful animals... tigers, pandas, whatever, but they are more than animals, they are simbols of an environment, if you protect them in their environment you automatically protect thousands of other species of plants and animals..."
